Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar took part in the International Yoga Day celebration at the National Institute of Homoeopathy in Salt Lake on June 21. The programme saw participation from hundreds of students, researchers, and faculty members who performed yoga on the institute’s ground. CISF West Bengal Sector IG Birendra Kumar Sharma was also present at the event.
During the programme, attendees listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address, which was streamed live. The PM joined Yoga Day celebrations from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This year’s theme was ‘Yoga for One Health,’ promoting a unified approach to physical and mental well-being through yoga.
Separately, Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, attended Yoga Day celebrations at the Indian Museum. Multiple programmes were held across the state to mark the day with participation from different institutions and organisations.
